Canine lick sore granuloma from injury

Description:Almost always, the condition is self-perpetuating. Hair regrowth and reduced compulsion to lick happen very slowly weeks to months. The lesion can initially be red, shiny, swollen, hairless, irritated, and bleeding, similar to a hot spot wet eczema. Many different treatments are used for lick granulomas. It is important to catch lesions early and keep the animal from licking them to then reduce inflammation and development of a habit. Some veterinarians have proposed that diet can affect compulsive behaviors in dogs.
