Do gay poets, who so often rightfully, I would argue write about their sexual lives, the pleasures and mutinies of the body—do we risk turning off straight readers? The individual became a conformist, whether he willed it or not, and a dominant mentality, embedded in the language, eliminated even the possibility of difference and independence.
